We love transforming spaces any time of year, but during the holidays? It’s our absolute favorite time for a decor makeover, with plants and other floral decor playing the starring role.
This year, Marlene, a member of our holiday design team, met with The Westin Sarasota’s event coordinators to dream up a holiday scheme that would reflect the hotel’s easy, elegant style. Their plan would marry the natural with the nautical, the perfect look for a hotel that’s poised between the serene Gulf and dynamic downtown. Marlene created some seasonal designs that would fill the Westin’s open, airy space with holiday charm.
Succulents were a key component of Marlene’s scheme. Here they nestle in open glass ornaments along with air plants, an enticing bauble on the two trees that were also decorated with shells and pine cones. The trees’ muted, natural palette complements the organic color and modern lines of the lobby.
Succulents were front and center in the compact table arrangements too, which also featured evergreen, berries and protea. This is a striking example of how blending unexpected plants and floral elements together can create a centerpiece of unusual seasonal beauty. The statement designs in the lobby did the same with the addition of branches and more for added scale and drama.
We look forward to our holiday installs all year, and in this case, it was an absolute pleasure to design in such a gorgeous space. We look forward to future collaborations with the Westin. If you want to deck your halls in similar fashion, let Beneva Plantscapes know. We’ll be right over.
